Mahogany cased Brass Microscope by Dollond London, Dated December 1806
Typical tapered cabinet of the period with microscope mounted on a plinth with integral drawer. Interestingly the backs of both drawers are signed and dated “16 December 1806” See images. Cabinet stands 18” high and the microscope on its plinth stands approx 14” high. The brass only retains a minimum of the original lacquer.
7 numbered objectives and small brass pot containing a few slide retaining rings. Both drawers retain the original wooden fittings and green baize.
Condition is excellent for its age with no signs of any excess wear. No cracks or splits to the case or drawers. Lock present, no key.
